We’re building something new and we need your help!
We believe that creativity and a sense of belonging are part of what makes us well and that arts give us greater access to ourselves and to each other. Right now, there aren’t enough accessible, inclusive art spaces downtown Guelph. Arts organizations have had to close their doors at a time when the need for art , community and connection is stronger than ever.
Why we need your help now:
Since March 2020, community need for our programs has increased exponentially. We have created 9 new ANS COVID-19 response projects, and increased our annual reach by 557%, but our second level office space in downtown Guelph, does not adequately meet our expanded operational or programming needs.
Together with many partners and friends, we have envisioned and planned for a new and exciting project and we’d love your help!
With your donation, you’ll be helping to transform a vacant storefront at 119 Wyndham St Guelph into 2,602 square feet of fully accessible space that will welcome all people with programs offered by and for Guelph’s equity-deserving population.
Art Not Shame has a bold vision of creating an accessible, beautiful, welcoming arts space to expand their own programming AND to offer space to other community organizations and arts practitioners that are so vital to our community.
To make this vision a reality, our goal is to raise money from the community, funding partners and generous donors so that we can create this space.
Every dollar brings us one step closer to creating this space for all to enjoy. With your support, you will be joining us in making this new creative hub a vibrant, art-filled, community-driven space!
Our space is designed to optimize equitable access for our staff, volunteers and program participants, all from the equity-deserving communities we serve, most in need of a space that is welcoming, accessible, and affordable. It will include a barrier free path of travel throughout the facility so that all are fully welcomed and safe in all areas of the space.
